THERAPEUTIC SET UP OF A REHAB

My experience in the rehab has shown that having a dog could be very helpful to a recovering person.

Some self isolating clients tend to talk more to a dog than to people. This is also therapeutic.
It becomes an entry point to associate with the environment. Though a dog cannot advise him/her, but the client feels a friendly surrounding that will slowly affect the emotions positively.

At Free Hearts, we had a client who was attached to a dog that he would wash it and feed it and in the long run, it became a reference point for change because currently, he is a dog breeder and this became his income and he is 24 hours busy replacing addiction (sublimation)

Despite the religious connotations about dogs, they are always friendly, non judgemental and therapeutic by touch. However, keep your dog clean and well fed so that it does not become a source of disgust for a dirty dog will make the clients resentful.

I would recommend a Maltese or a chihuahua.
Do not choose a colored dog, preferably a white one will do.
